Web development
Creating websites that contain useful information is very important. It is actually just as important as doing bug reports. A website contains a lot of information that is needed for the development to move on and it also contains information that will help the public to understand what the application is all about.
There are many aspects (design concerns) in this process, and due to the rapid development of the Internet, new aspects may emerge. For non-commercial web sites, the goals may vary depending on the desired exposure and response. The basic aspects of design may be as follows:
- The content: the substance, and information on the site should be relevant to the site and should target the area of the public that the website is concerned with.
- The usability: the site should be user-friendly, with the interface and navigation simple and reliable.
- The appearance: the graphics and text should include a single style that flows throughout, to show consistency. The style should be professional, appealing and relevant.
- The visibility: the site must also be easy to find via most, if not all, major search engines and advertisement media.
Now let us see what's the problem for this website:
drcom-client.ORG is still a Static Website, primarily coded in HTML. As it is the first time for our developers to set up a website, they decide to choose static website temporarily. Static Website has several problems:- Visitors are not able to control what information they receive, and must instead settle for whatever content the website owner has decided to offer at that time.
- It is not easy for web developers to update some changable contents like News or to deal with some interactivity with users.
Our Plan is to create a Dynamic Website with a good WikiEngine (Trac or MoinMoin). The main forus is the collaboration on easily editable web pages.
